“Chapter 2”, is building further on the foundations written about in Verstrepen’s design manifesto. This second collection is inspired by commonly used image aspect ratios from film and photography (16:9, 4:5, 3:4,...) and are the beginnings of an idea to frame the transcendent beauty and impermanence of nature.
In this piece I was inspired by primitive hinges. I sculpted two branches, which were then casted in aluminium, to act as the hinge which then continues into the handle for the drawers.
