The aluminium frame begins as the building blocks to a collection of furniture titled CONTEMPLATION//REST//NURTURE. The frame principle is used here to contrast with the raw flax that forms a daybed. Staying true to Belgium’s natural resources, the strands of flax came from the fields in West-Flanders. A structure of tightly woven hemp rope was used to form a base on which to present the raw flax. The soft texture and organic smell of the materials develop a sensory experience while laying down on the daybed; creating a place for rest.
